Kortgene is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Noord-Beveland, and lies about 15 km northeast of Middelburg. It is the only place in Noord-Beveland that has ever been given its city rights. The old church tower is the only mediaeval building on the island and has survived the floods that completely destroyed the rest of the village. 2
