This article would benefit from some expansion of the material and extra links to more specific articles (e.g. on barrier beaches, one example is [[Slapton barrier beach case study, UK]]. It would be useful to include a summary of the UK FUTURECOAST project concepts and classifications here (see [[FUTURECOAST project, UK]]. There are no references, they should be included, and the further reading list could usefully be expanded, as it currently only contains one publication written by the author of the article.
