Littoral zone

Definition of Littoral zone:
In marine ecosystems the shore area or intertidal zone, where periodic exposure and submersion by tides is normal.[1].
It may also include the adjacent shallow subtidal zone. This is the common definition for Littoral zone, other definitions can be discussed in the article
