Located 9 km west of Coutances and 15 kilometers north of Granville, Hauteville sur Mer is divided into two towns: one historical town, about 1.5 km from the coast and the other, called Hauteville sur Mer Plage on a distance of 1.7 km from the beach, protected by a seawall along the beach, and mainly composed of tourist homes and temporary residences.http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauteville-sur-mer
