Free cyanide

Cyanide (CN^{-) most commonly occurs as hydrogen cyanide (HCN) and its salts: sodium cyanide (NaCN) and potassium cyanide (KCN). Cyanides are widely spread in nature, arising from both natural and anthropogenic sources. Cyanides are produced by certain bacteria, fungi, and algae.
