Cohesive sediment

Definition of Cohesive sediment:
Sediment containing significant proportion of clays, the electromagnetic properties of which cause the sediment to bind together [1].
The zone is characterised by a turbulent layer of water that washes up on the beach after an incoming wave has broken. [2] This is the common definition for Cohesive sediment, other definitions can be discussed in the article
