Definition of pollution:
Pollution is the introduction by man, directly or indirectly, of substances or energy into the marine environment resulting in deleterious effects of such nature as to endanger human health, harm to living resources and ecosystems, hinder marine activities - including fishing -, and impair or interfere with amenities or other legitimate uses of the environment[1].
