The MERMAID project considers four offshore study sites for multi-use offshore platforms. Site-specific designs are being developed based on an extensive stakeholder consultation process and the environmental characteristics of each site. The following study sites are studied:
- Atlantic Ocean - A deep water site
- Mediterranean Sea - A sheltered site
- North Sea - Wadden Sea - An active morphology site
- Baltic Sea - An estuarine site
