Definition of Zonation:
In ecology: Recognizable bands or groupings of plant and animal communities in certain environments, such as within salt marshes and along rocky shorelines. [1]
In coastal zone management: Establishment of buffer zones for coastal protection. See: Setback area. This is the common definition for Zonation, other definitions can be discussed in the article
