Definition of Biofouling:
Biofouling or biological fouling is the undesirable accumulation of micro-organisms, plants, algae, and animals on submerged structures e.g. measuring sensors or ships' hulls. If biofouling occurs on the surfaces of living marine organisms it is called epibiosis[1].
This is the common definition for Biofouling, other definitions can be discussed in the article
